Caring for your Poultry Pillow
Poultry Pillows are simple to use and clean. To clean your pillow use a moistened cloth, damp paper towel, or wet wipe to clean off any visible poop or dirt from the pillow. Do NOT use a soaking cloth or paper to wipe off the debris. Once the visible debris is wiped away, you will need to disinfect the surface of the pillow. The following is a list of bird friendly cleaners (only use one during each cleaning):
- 5 parts water to 1 part peroxide
- 1 capful of regular bleach in a gallon of water
- Diluted Vinegar
- "Clorox Anywhere Hard Surface" Spray (it is safe around pets and children)
Additional Care Notes
- Use just enough cleaner to wipe off the surface of your pillow with a cloth or paper towel.
- Air dry the pillow after cleaning. It should dry quickly if you don't use too much cleaner.
- Do NOT use soapy water to wash your pillow. *
- Do NOT soak the pillow in water or a washing machine *
- Do NOT dry in a dryer
* Soaking the pillow or using too much liquid while cleaning will cause the liquid to soak into the seams of the pillow. If liquid soaked into the seams of the pillow, it will take a very long time to air dry. You may give the pillow back to your fowl once it is dry.
